UPDATE: Iowa Quarter release

I was in one of my beloved local shops today and heard that September 3rd was the day that these were being released. Has anyone heard?

I heard they may have it at either the Capitol or the Fair Grounds.

Anyone?

You can buy the 2004 mint set and get one P and one D. That will be shipping on 7/13 according to the U.S. mint.

I am actually talking about the ceremony that is hosted by the State and the Mint.

    UPDATE:

It looks like Sept 3 is the date that they are having the ceremony. It will be at 10am at the State Capital. Mint Director Henrietta Holesman Fore will be there as well as, I think, the Governor.

Does anyone know if they usually offer bags of quarters or is it just the rolls? I think there is also a chance for kids to exchange a quarter for a new Iowa quarter.

I don't know about the quarters, but when the mint had a "special" release of the keelboat nickels here in Nebraska a month ago or so, it was just rolls.
