CCU, this coin was sold by B. Max Mehl in his At-water Sale(had to hyphen that word as it got flagged for containing a forbidden word!) in 1946. It sold to Ted Naftzger who kept the coin for 46 years until he sold it to dealer Eric Streiner in 1992, then to dealer Jay Parrino of "The Mint" A collector from Georgia now owns the coin. If you have access to old plated Chapman catalogues, this coin was plated in three Chapman sales, the Winsor Sale, 12/1895, the Earle Sale, 6/1912, and the Bement Sale, 5/1916. TomT.

I found this. They also show a MS69bn ex Naftzger. But no mention of a 68rd.
PCGS MS-69 Brown (illustrated above). Ex - Ernest Henderson, 1958 - Dorothy Paschal, 1959 - Dr. William H. Sheldon, April 19, 1972 - R.E. Naftzger, Jr., February 23, 1992 - Eric Streiner - Jay Parrino (The Mint) - Superior Stamp & Coin's "ANA 2000 National Money Show" Sale, March 2-3, 2000, Lot 67, "PCGS MS-69 Brown", unsold - Superior Galleries "The ANA 2001 National Money Show Auction", March 8-9, 2001, Lot 12 at $172,500.00, "PCGS MS-69 Brown". This coin is the plate coin for the variety in William Noyes' "United States Large Cents 1793-1814". This is the finest example of the variety and the only Large Cent of any date that has ever earned a grade of MS-69, in any color
PCGS MS-67 Red and Brown (illustrated below). Ex - Crosby - Pearl, Lot 7 - William H. Sheldon - Roy E. Naftzger, Lot 330 - Rarcoa August, 1982, Lot 510 - Jay Parrino - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles, Inc.'s "The California Sale", October 2-3, 2000, Lot 1395, "Vine and Bars, Sheldon-9"
<< <i>One actual MS-70 example of Sheldon 5 is recognized by the Early American Copper Society (EAC), originally in the William Cutler Atwater collection sold by the colorful B. Max Mehl in 1945. This coin is remarkably well centered and appears to have been struck on a polished planchet, possibly as a presentation piece >>
CCU... The Chapman plates show great quality for this issue though tell nothing about color. I've never seen a modern pic. The "Georgia" collector has many other superb coins. K
This 68RD is a complete and total freak of a coin.
I had the pleasure of drooling over this beauty at the 1999 EAC Convention where the 'Georgia' collector was nice enough to bring it along for the Large Cent Happening.
If it's ever exhibited, DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW THIS COIN!!!!

Couldn't find any pictures, though.

Surely somewhere, at some time, someone must have taken a picture of it. Right?
