Coin Dealer Robbed In Chicago! Help?

Fred Colombo was robbed this afternoon while packing up at the Mid-America
show in Rosemont, IL. About 120 coins were stolen, mostly Walkers through
Seated and Trade dollars, some Morgans, gold. An exact list of what's
missing isn't available right now, but below is an approximate list of
highlights. There were about 40 coins at > $5000 each including:

    Cert number would be helpful. Of course if the crook is smart they are already cracked out.
  • The perp reached over the table and took it from a chair while he had his back turned to write a check. It was in the show and it was one of the most heavily guarded shows we do. The key was that the police did not seal the room. I had a table right at the front door and i watched large suitcases roll right past the cops. Legally i am not sure that they could open them but all the dealers i know would have been happy to help by opening their bags.

  • mr dorkkarl.. ive read your whole conspiracy theory post in another thread..is this just a crazy theory or do you have some real inside info on this robbery..ive always been told that insurance companys pay big cash rewards to people who uncover insurance scams..
