Just sold someone these coins on Ebay.

Got a reply today that they had been recieved and got the following comment:

"it is wonderfull what a dab of toothpaste can do for coins like these"

Glad to see people are out there doctoring up coins! Let's just hope they stay in this guy's collection!

    I'll take the ignorant sl** stance........luckily they were not beautifully toned pieces or MS state.
    He now is enjoying the coins, if he sells I can only hope he describes them as cleaned.
    The bottom line is that we have another numismatic and in time he will appriciate coins as they are, & buy coins he likes as they are.
    These 2 coins are now relegated to life in an album, but who would have spent the money to grade them anyways?

    At the very least the next buyer will see the hairlines & kn ow they were cleaned, unlike all the schooled numismatics that dip, then sell them off as CH.BUimage

    Probably didn't hurt the coins.
    Tell the guy vaseline works better.
