State Quarter Bank Rolls. The answer to why you may be having problems getting them from your bank

We recently got our first shipment of the new Texas quarters and I asked our head vault teller why some of the banks in our area don't have any. Several customers of other banks in our area are coming to us begging for the new quarters.

It was explained to me that our area Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas allots only $500 to each bank in a given Federal Reserve area. If you happen to bank at one of the bigger banks like Wells Fargo or Bank of America, they may have to share that allotment with MANY of their branches.

Another reason to support your locally owned independent bank in your area.

Hope this helps.

Banks in my area don't sell rolls to collectors. The banks I have accounts at are not freindly!

At least you have a chance!

The banks by us buy there rolls from Brinks, you can't get mint rolls here. Just ones rolled by brinks..
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • I finally got hooked up with the folks at vault, but they are not real friendly either. They were limiting everyone to one roll for first shipment. Then a week later, I got 3 more rolls. They have lots of branches and also distribute to other banks in the area. Those are of course, the D's. I have a couple P rolls coming in from KY from my bud. Also got a bag of P's and the 2 rolls set from mint. That little mint bag sure is cute!

we bought 7000 Florida State quarters for a bank client for them to give away as free samples. It was very successful.

Which is why you should buy them all and make a mean profit image

That is very true for the big banks with many branches. At a bank where I used to work, the main vault would not release any of the state quarters until they had enough to supply ALL of the branches. Apparently they could not get very many per shipment, and it took multiple shipments to obtain enough. It would be about a month after the quarter's release before we could get them. Independent banks, and banks with few branches get them more quickly. image

Thats all the local pool haul by me seems to have. Bright shiny new rolls of florida and texas quarters.
  • My bank teller saves me 5 heads/tails rolls as soon as they come in. All the tellers know to look out for unusual coins and currency and let me take a look at whatever they find. I will also take stuff in to let them look at. They have also been a contact point for two collections I bought from little old ladies who didn't know what to do with them.
Kiss up to those bank tellers, they can be very usefull.

So that's why my bank never seems to have rolls when I ask.
