    Look at both auctions.

I was looking at that yesterday with the same thought as you. Besides the scuffs in a suspicious area, the N of ONE looks too bold. It's tough to say for certain in that small, dark pic but the feathertips and date don't look right either.

When I blow up the image of the first coin and look at the scuffed area I can see the remnants of the word copy (can't make out the Y the picture is more heavily pixelated there.) and the remnants line up in the same location for each letter as on the copy shown in the second auction.

Most of the guys auctions are private but the one auction where he got his only Neg is public and it's a coin. The seller insists the coin is genuine and refused to refund the buyers money. The auction was for an obvious fake 1803 dollar.

Seller claims this coin is genuine so no refund.

I think I would steer clear.

Well his 1877 indian is fake, his 16-D dime is fake, his 1877-CC trade dollar is fake, Im pretty sure his 1875-CC trade is fake (appears to be the same rev die), I'm suspicious of the 1847 dollar, and it is hard to tell from the pictures but I belive his 37-D three leg buffalo is altered. (E Pluribus Unum is too close to buffalo and the rear leg lacks the ragged appearance seen on genuine pieces.)

Took a look at his closed auctions too, he has sold the 1847 dollar twice before, listed a fake 42/1 dime but withdrew it, and several trade dollars all dates from 1873 to 1877 with the same reverse die identified as a fake on the 1877-CC. This guy sells mainly either badly corroded dug copper coins or fakes.

it looks like some poor soul paid $ 1276.50 for that "copy".

HOW CAN SOME ONE EXPOSE THIS GUY AS A SELLER OF COPIES.
    THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

I see the new ANA/eBay anti-fraud partnership is really having an effect.

It is just plain lunacy for any serious collector to bid on a three thousand dollar plus coin which is some very serious money for most of us on a coin sold in an ordinary uncertified 2X2 flip.

I am having a hard time in finding sympathy for their dumbness. There is no excuse.
