College of Numismatics

Are there any careers in the numismatic community that you would go to college for? Just getting an idea. I have no interest in anything except becoming a recording enginneer or a journalist, so far.

I bet a lot of people in numismatics came into it by odd routes.

Business definately would give you a solid background to work from if you were a dealer. Your learning of actual numismatics would probally have to be mostly on your own and from other peoples.

Numismatics, when looked at from the dealer standpoint, is strictly a business. You can't fall in love with your stock. You have to be able to read the market and your customers. You have to be well versed in sources of supply. You have to have strong financial backing.
