Just did a quick search on ebay for Barber Quarters

And out of 529 current items, a grand total of 9 of them are graded by either NGC or PCGS. That's 1.7%, about as low as I've ever seen it. What's the ratio of NGC/PCGS certified coins in some of your favorite categories?

That 1896-O Tonelover has looks good if you like white coins.
85 raw and 4 graded by pcgs or ngc.
When a nice one is located, it's a true gem.
The same thing holds true for Barber Halves. I'm still searching for the nine dates I need in either PCGS/NGC AU55 - 58.

I'll stick to my lightly circulated Barber coins.

And yes, Jon has all the nice Barbers. On occasion, you may be able to convince him to part with one, here and there.

There may be something that can be read into this regarding the state of eBay. In recent months most PCGS/NGC coins on eBay seemed to have sky-high starting prices or reserves. Many seem to go unsold. I suspect that these coins were mostly dealer offerings and were, in fact, little more than thinly disguised attempts to sell at full retail. These dealers, having had little success, are now dropping out of eBay. Comments?
