What I found today

Picked up $500 worth of halves at the bank today and pulled out the following:

1 - 1964
1 - 1964D
3 - 1966
9 - 1967
7 - 1968
4 - 1969

and 1 - 1978 Yugoslavian 10 Dinara (Where the heck did that come from?) (I know, I know......Yugoslavia)
All of them were pretty far gone but what the heck?

At any rate, this beats the heck out of the $1000 I went through for 1 1968!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    $1000 bucks worth for 1 lousy 40%?
At that kind of return on investment for your time, the job opening at McDonalds you been thinking of just has to be looking a lot better now.

Last week I went to the bank and asked them if they had any half dollars and they had 2 rolls which I bought. I always ask them if they have any whenever I go there and this is the first time they ever had more than just a few loose ones. Well I went through the 2 rolls and found the following:

    1- 1964
    2- 1966's
    3- 1967's
    4- 1968D's
    1- 1969D

The rest were later than 1970. All of the pre1970's appear to be AU or slider uncirculated. A few of them are mildly toned. I was pretty excited to find them.

My thoughts exactly which is why only got $500 this time! I thought my fingers were gonna drop off from unrolling and rerolling! The only other thing I pulled from the $1000 lot was this 72-D which looked really great! (Please pardon the scan)

As a side note to those that have tried, most banks do not carry halves but will order them for you at $500 a pop. All you have to do is ask. I order them from one bank then turn them in at another to avoid searching the same lots.
