So I started to think about the long delays in turnaround times from PCGS. I sent in a submission to NGC at the same time I sent in coins to PCGS. NGC level was 12-days and PCGS is 15-days. I have received my NGC coins back and don't expect PCGS for at least a couple more weeks.

Maybe PCGS is (or should be) sending the coins to NGC so they know what grade they should give it, get it back, crack it out and put it in a new holder. That would certainly clean up the backlog, throw off the competitor's population report, and probably be a lot less expensive than hiring another grader.

Sure, bulk ship them, it will be cheap. In fact you could probably make a deal with the airline. One full sealed container as "luggage", inspected at PCGS by airline personel during loading and accompanied by a PCGS employee on the flight. For the cost of two air freight shipments and a round trip ticket they could probably ship tens of thousands of coins.

It would be much simpler if PCGS shipped the shells to NGC and NGC added a little "PCGS" checkbox to their submission form.

cool idea.......you can even send some to accupig and just have them lower their grades by three
