I want to announce that I will NOT be buying or trading off the net. I can't im not allowed to. Although if I win some kind of prize from the contests or drawings, its okay. My parents just don't trust my money on the internet. Sorry about any offers anyone has made me, or any coins ive asked for. image

    that's too bad because this place is quite possibly one of the safest places to have transactions aside from the large well known/respected dealers' sites.

    ebay, I can understand that if they would not permit it. Half the time I don't feel comfortable using it anymore.

    If your parents are not behind you 100% then I would have to agree.

    Even dealing with members here problems arise, I sent coins to a YN in the Netherlands in a trade. My coins that I sent him 'disappeared', his were returned to him! How strange how that happened! Now the P.O. wants a letter from him stating he never got the package. Well, he's only 15 or 16, I told him if he was under 18 his parent would have to write the letter.....that was some time ago & still no letter! Big Surprise.
    Also, if a package is insured for over $50, an adult has to sign....lots of little things that adults need to do....writing a check or getting M.O. even if it's your money......

    That being said, I would love if my kids had taken up coin collecting rather than Pokemon/Magic cards & Beanie Babies....maybe they'll make a comebackimage

    Use this time to read and learn about the coins that interest you. That way you'll be a more educated collector when you can start to buy.

    Excellent advice!

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Well I know how you feel,but you'll thank your parents someday.After all there are even some coin sharks on PCGS.Good luck collecting,and nice Rosieimage

    Hi Scott,

    The hard part is that, even if they do it with you, they still run the same risk, unless they take the time to get to know us.
