I have the Jack Robinson and Robinson Brown I and II.I'm talking large cents and half cents here.
Any copper bugs have any favorites they would like to recommend?
I'm looking for interesting insights and information.Great photos also help.
My favorite is Jack Robinson-delux edition.Leather slip case and page after page of actual photo plates which can be studied with a loop.Almost like sitting down with a great collection.
I understand John Ford and Breen cataloged some good ones.
Thanks!

Off the top of my head...
Stack's 1988 Halpern
Merkin 1964 Helfenstein
New Netherlands 1952 ANA
Stack's 1954 Dupont I
Stack's 1984 Starr (2)
Superior 1974 Ruby I
Sup 1990 Chalkley
Sup 1991 Kuntz
Sup 1992 Cohen
Sup 1992 Adams
Sup 2001 Frankenfield
Have fun!
Robinson III; Superior 6/2002
Both these are good recent auctions.
Keep a lookout for Heritage FUN 2005 coming up; the Rasmussen collection will have a seperate catalog which will likely be another must-have for early copper nuts.
RELLA
who boasts of twenty years experience in his craft
while in fact he has had only one year of experience...
twenty times.
I understand that Superior is having an auction with alot of Large Cents in Sept.Pre Long Beach I think.
For half cents ther good ones would be the Jerry Cohen collectionand the Bill Webber collection.
Yes I have both the 86 and 96 Robinson Brown catalogs.I like them for the extra tidbits of info.Such as, in researching my latest cent a S-232.In the '96 catalog description of the 232 it says the 1 in the date is weak as a result of the cud over the second T in STATES.I never thought of that and never saw it written anywhere. My coin a nice EAC vf 35 exhibits this. This type of knowledge adds to my enjoyment of owning this coin.
In fact I like the catalogs almost as much as the coins themselves.
Also thanks for your explaination of how to identify the different heads on '94s of a few weeks ago.I printed it out and taped it in my Large Cent Encyclopedia.Heads of 93 and 94 are no longer a problem for me.'95 I still struggle with partly because there is only 1 Exact Head of 95 but here are 7 Redbook varities 67-72 and NC3.

Steve
