1829 varieties

In a reference it says theres two and three pale gules varieties. I don't understand what there talking about at all. Would some help me identify what this one is? And if not show me how to? Pic below.

It's on the shield of the Capped Busts, or at least the Half-Dimes (I'm not sure if this is true with other denoms). The verticle lines in the lower shield are what is being referred to. Some varieties have groups of 3 lines, others groups of 2 lines. Thus, 3 pale gules, and 2 pale gules. The 3 pale gules only appear on the first 3 reverse dies, and were never used again in the series. Most coins found with 3 pale gules are proofs or have proof-line surfaces.
