Recently I was looking thru a box of junk barber quarter's and came across a 1901. Well when I flipped it over, something caught my eye. It looked like a very faint s mintmark. I looked at it several times and couldnt figure out if it was a weak but genuine 01-s or what it was. As most folks know, all 1901-s barber quarters I have ever seen or herd of, even in very low grade, have a pronounced mintmark. I showed it to a fellow board member who thought it was intresting, not necessarily a genuine coin, so I decide to send it in to see what the services would say about it. I was wondering if somehow it was a filled in mintmark by something on the die, or a weak strike or even a sanfrancisco die that was used in Philly? or any number of things including someone trying to alter it to look like an "s".
Anyway, PCGS graded it today as a 1901-Philly Good-6, oh well, it will make an intresting conversation piece.
Here are the photo's for you to see ? also I welcome any comments ?

Yes, I am aware of that as mentioned in my post. I thought it was neat. Looks more realistic in person that on the photo. And No, I dont have to dream about an 01-s.
