When will it end?

Not having to go too far back in time, there was:

NGC/PNG/ANA vs DH:
image

And K6AZ vs some members over obtaining litigation monies for the defendants:
image

Then Keets vs Russ:
image

Then Anaconda vs Pontiacinf/K6AZ:
image

And now Legend vs DH:
image

If I've forgotten any, its only because I purposely did not read the thread. PM me and I'll add them.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH EVERYBODY? Did the virus that was supposedly hitting the forum go to everyones head and fingers? C'mon! If you can't say something nice or constuctive---don't say anything at all! If you can't let something go and must respond, at least try to do it without being antagonistic! Would this be so hard for all of us? I know there will always be differences of opinion on just about every topic threaded, but can't we agree to disagree nicely? There is just way too much posting of acerbic opinions w/o full info and/or jumping to conclusions!

I'm not putting this up as the voice of reason, just trying to get our "house" to be more like a home. Seemed someone had to point this out.

Yea, I know---if I don't like it, I can just ignore it. But its getting to the point where this forum WAS like a MS/PR69 that started carbon spotting. No one did or is planning to do any conservation to it and they are growing and getting uglier all the time! Pretty soon, there will be no value to it at all! At this point in time, I grade it MS64! We can bring it back if we all just think about what to say and how to say it before we let fly with the fingers.

I'm going back to "sleepy hollow" for a nap now. I fully expect to come back in a few hours and find a few bite marks to my thread. So be it.

Does ICG have a forum?

"Websters"....page 301 com~pe~ti~tion (kom/pi tish/en), n. 1. the act of competing; struggle or rivalry for supremacy, a prize, etc.: The struggle started with Cain and it has not let up.... even to this day......

EARLY???? It is using precussion cap technology. Early would use flintlock technology, at the very least.

Done Deal will always be a thread that I enjoyed.

But in answer to your question, it will end in the year 2043 when the machines take over and humans are enslaved to be only used to deliver messages between the machines in the newly devised "SneakerNet"

Ok---woke up and came back to see what was up.

First, nOoBiEeE---it was only partially OT. Didn't you see the grade given to the coin?

Secondly, lava---this is MY thread so its spy88 vs lava image

Thirdly, Bill---you never PMed me for a source of unsearched Jeff rolls!

Fourthly, Eric---VERY nice analogistic situation rendition. (Say THAT very fast 5 times!).

Fifthly, Katrina---what say you and I discuss them over dinner and a glass of wine? image

And lastly---the dueling pistols are original. Renette a Paris (c.1845).
    Not mine to sell.

    Spy88,

I like the idea of sniper rifles as opposed to dueling pistols.

    DragonOfFire vs. the board
    Greg Margulies vs. DH
    DCAMFranklin vs. several
    DOOPS vs. everyone it seemed
Aswimmer and dwood (I think, I may be wrong here) vs. the board
At one time, Jade Coin vs. the board in the early days when Harold's hoard was constantly mentioned here from ebay. They're the only ones that were able to successfully prove their innocence (sarcasm intended)
Let's see, am I forgetting anyone? Oh yeah, that one guy vs. d hall when he posted the altered pic of d hall. And more outside the forum, I'm sure.

    Lucy/nwcs/Shamika,

Will add the pistols for the ones mentioned when I get back from my golf today. Thanks for the forgotten ones. I didn't think mogadeet and his disbelievers deserved the pistols and still don't, so they'll do without.

Lucy, you also forgot the little "scuffle" you had next door with some rude individual. Will have to look him up for the name.

Shamika, I wanted to go to sniper school during my Army tour but my parents talked me out of it. The Army wasn't too happy with my decision---was pretty good with the M14---with a custom sniper rifle, I guess they thought I would have been a very good asset to them in Nam. At the time, I thought ANYPLACE would be better then Alabama! Stayed stateside and did ATC for them.

This is what I would have had to use:

I've got a Remington 700 BDL in 300 RUM that I can reach out and touch a paper plate at 600 yards. With a little modification I'm hoping to get to 1000 yards. Practice, practice, practice.

    hey David

the fact that disagreements arise between members is all quite normal. as a matter of fact, if there were none here it would seem rather artificial and not as interesting. the notion that everyone everywhere gets along with everybody else all the time is a fantasy. i actually think this place is rather tame when you consider the "real world" and what transpires there. Geez, i've had worse experiences because i had one to many items in the Speedline at the local Giant Eagle!!!!!!image

and while we're at it, despite the sometime meanness that comes across the wires, who here doesn't really like who?? i have yet to meet a member who wasn't friendly and at least cordial. generally we agree to just disagree. of course, i haven't met Russ yet---image---but i imagine if i ever did that we wouldn't tumble in the Bourse aisle over a silly forum dispute. but even if we did, how cool would that be??image YEEEEEEEEHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get ready to RRRRRRRUUBBLLEEE!!!!!!!!

I don't have a clue how this coin weenie would react to seeing a fist fight at a coin show. But, I have seen some pretty close ones for people showing up in the speed line with too many items!! If the coin frenzy gets much hotter, maybe coin dealers will have speed lines at their booths at the shows. Jerry

Ok---here's the last post for this. Instead of the pistols for all those scuffles I forgot to include, here's a better idea.

EVERYBODY PILE IN FOR A FREE-FOR-ALL!!!! I'm gonna watch.

    image

Yea, I know Al---I've even done my share so I'm just as guilty as the next member. It's just that all the confrontational posts as of late seem IMHO to be totally unnecessary. If all of us who got ired up over something somebody did or said held their breath for a count of 10 (some of you 1000!) before responding, we might see the light (or the stars!) and not post at all. To me, this is the best way to handle it.

    Over and out.

  • << <i>If all of us who got ired up over something somebody did or said >>

I'd just like to add that if some (of us) would take this advice 'before' they make that post or comment that gets everyone riled up, it might help to control the angry responses and conflicts a little bit. It's one thing to make comments, jokes, and responses about coin related issues, but a totally uncalled for comment about 'you know what' (if this reference doesn't ring a bell let me know) ........ that's just asking for a fight in my opinion.
Am i guilty of stiring up the pot ? Probably, but i think i have every right to question and discuss a topic as everyone else does. If my viewpoint is different then i'm sorry.
