10,000 sets and we have a winner!

Hi Everyone!

On June 22, 2004, just three short years since the launch of the PSA Set RegistrySM, the 10,000th set was registered. As a way of showing our appreciation to our membership, we held a drawing of all current members. A winner was selected to receive 50 free grades. Congratulations to Bill Roberts, the owner of Tagbr's 1965 Dodgers - 1965 Topps Los Angeles Dodgers, Tagbr's Colavito cards - Rocky Colavito Master Set, Tagbr's Basic Colavito set - Rocky Colavito Basic Set, 59 Champs - 1959 Topps Los Angeles Dodgers, and 63 Champs - 1963 Topps Los Angeles Dodgers.

Thanks to all our members for your support of the PSA Set Registry program!

    Fix! I demand a recount!! </Al Gore>
  • What happens when he delete our sets tonight and drop below 10,000? Does Bill have to pay for the 50 cards he submits?

And will there be a new winner announced next week when go above 10,000 again? image

    BJ,

Yeah, yeah, congrats to the winner but WHO was the individual that registered set #10,000???????

I want to know if it was me so I can call our local newspaper (whom sister-in-law works for) and suggest a 5 page story on my exceptional $978.24 collection!!!

Overheard from the room where the drawing was held :

"And the winner is Da ... forget it, let's draw another one.
Okay, the new winner is Da ... not again, we'll draw just one more.
The actual drawing winner is Da ... dam, how many freakin sets does this guy have ?
One more time, and this time it's for real, and the drawing winner is Bill Roberts ! Alright !"

I wondered if Dav had won if they would've made him join up to use them.

Nice gesture on PSA's part any way you slice it.
I hope whoever came up with the registry idea got a fat bonus. It is like convincing Eskimos they need to buy icecubes.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • PC, thanks for the generous offer but I will be submitting raw cards for myself and a deserving friend. If I do have any left over I will consider your offer.

Huh? It was a great gesture on PSA's part to give away 50 free grades. It wasn't national news or supposed to be. It was a giveaway, plain and simple.

Maybe I just built it up in my mind it was going to be better. Sorry to be so grumpy lately. I need to buy some cards or something. Congrats to Billbob. Enjoy!
