It took HOURS!!!

Jumpin Jahosaphat. Man, it seemed to take forever, but I just finished. I cracked all 129 of my slabs and put the coins into a dansco album. Coins look so much better in danscos... Man, it sure is a pretty set. I'm bushed, but I think it was worth agonizing over a hammer to free the coins. Time to go to bed.

Tomorrow you should take Brasso and shine them up so they are really clean.

You know what, I have been about all set to crack my 1909-1915d Lincolns... as I am happy with most... but still not quite sure about my 12-d,14,15-d. These I may still upgrade so I should leave them in the slab. But then what's the point of cracking the others yet as I still won't have a complete page of 20 coins to put together.
  • That's a really great idea! I think tomorrow I will do the same thing in order to save
space. In fact, I'll go you one further and just put them all in tubes! It will be very
handy to be able to grab just my nickels, dimes or quarters and go!

That's one of my biggest complaints about slabs - they're just too bulky. I've also found that scrubbing those ugly tarnished coins with a Brillo pad makes them nice and shiny again.

I think this may set a new trend in coin collecting. As for me, I doubt thaat I will stray into this new forum of collecting at this time. If I were to just jump at any trend as it presents itself then what type of american would I be? No, at this point I believe my slabs are safe...

    For now.

    sumdunce,

Now that I can testify that my coins look great in a dansco, I'm sure others will follow. This really has me excited.

I don't think removing the coins from the slabs is a good idea. They look better in the holders.

I don't see how too figure out the code using the bold letters to hide a message in there?

  • Ireally don't see what is the big deal. All of my Lincolns are forcibly freed as soon as I buy them. I have the inserts that I use to enter the coins into the registry, but physically all go into 2X2's! I appreciate the opinion of the better graders at the leading TPG in the country, but I would much rather fondle my $15,000 22-D in 66RD. So, as soon as I get one of these beauties in the mail, out comes the hammer. Into a 2X2 it goes and right into a desk drawer down in my cold, musty, humid basement.

I wish all my eager Lincoln buddies could take the same approach.
