June CC Special question - I'd like your opinion

I sent a 63 card submission to PSA last week under the current June CC Special - $10/10 day service.

Here are the terms for this special:

Submit any card through the Economy service for only $10 per card* during the
month of June and take advantage of the 10 business day turnaround.
That's 20 business days earlier than our normal economy service!
*(excludes super sized cards and cards with a declared value of $500 or higher)


Now, here's my problem:


I received a message from PSA today that I need to pay for additional s&h charges and split my order into 2 submissions because I included quite a few "Tall Boys". The way that I read the terms of this special indicate to me that only "super sized cards and cards with a declared value of $500 or higher" would be excluded. I intentionally did not submit these "Tall Boys" under the normal $8 per card service because of this special - I was willing to pay the extra $2 for the 10 day turnaround. Now they want to charge me even more!?!?


The way I see it, "Super Sized" = T3 or similar sized cards. Am I wrong?

I just want to know what you think before I speak to somebody at PSA tomorrow.

No offense, JEB, but I think you're wrong. PSA certainly could've used more precise language than super sized, but I think most people would interpret that to mean holders larger than the standard size - especially since tall boys ordinarily need to be on their own invoice.

No offense either, but anyone who is collecting sets with cards larger than those that fit in a standard "Tall Boy" holder, have heard PSA refer to these cards as "Super Sized" over the past year.

Same thing happened to me. Of course the $35 T3 holders are excluded from the special but I was told that tall boys are also excluded.

You're right. Shoddy use of the English language. Call 'em up and complain.

That just sucks! Why are they excluded? It's a higher service level - I am already paying an extra $2 per card. If I had known this, I would have just sent it in under the regular $8 service!

Jeb...I agree PSA could have used better language, but I would think "super sized" would have included tall boys. I would have called them and asked before I submitted the tall boys just for clarification.

I think they called it regular service which would have made the regular stipulation below hold since this is on the submission page. also , tall boys are not excluded , they just need to be submitted in the usual way. that kinds of sucks becasue it is a simple misunderstanding.

here is the wording from the submission page :

Note: Tall boys, pins/coins may be submitted on each of the above services but must be submitted as a separate order from regular sized cards. Separate shipping and handling fees will apply. Failure to separate will result in additional fees and cause significant delays in processing your order.

I called and was told tall boys are ok for the june cc sp.
but this is the tenth business night and i still do not have my results,,, so,,,

Interesting. This is different from what the customer rep told me. I was told that I would have to pay extra for the tall boys and the packages would be sent back in two separate packages, which means 2x postage and insurance.
