I kinda of feel bad for this seller

I kind of feel bad for this seller. It appears that the 1990 SAE graded MS70 by PCI is their first listing ever and they maybe confused about the item and listed as a PCGS graded coin. They bought the SAE from coinmovers and it was their very first Ebay purchase and now it seems they are trying to get the "$2,500 VALUE" coinmovers used on their auction. I emailed the seller informing them that the SAE they have for sale was not graded by PCGS but PCI just wanted to let them know the error. image

  • I e-mailed them and let them know as well. I also let them know that there is a big difference between the two companies and the difference is not in their favor.
  • If he bought the coin for $50.00 and now he is claiming its worth over $2000, I'm not sure I feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for the guy who might but it from HIM.

I have a feeling that the next thing that newbie seller buys on eBay will be a large tube of KY Jelly!

  • I should have mentioned that I don't feel sorry for him either. Probably just another scum bag trying to rip off someone who doesn't know any better. NOW, if I'm wrong then yes, I feel a little sorry for the guy/gal.
  • I believe you're right. I can't see it as a scam. But I can see it as unknowing wishful thinking. Definitely can't hold it against them if that's it. Is the price alright though for what they paid? I believe I saw it at $49.99. Also, can they view our posts with-out being members? They might feel better. Put them at ease of any thought that we mean them harm. Jerry

I have no idea why some of you folks want to involve yourself in this type of thing. It's not your problem. Don't make it your problem.

The lessons that a person takes the most to heart and learns the most from are the ones that cost money! This was a cheap education for this person.

Who is getting involved? You are right that it isn't my problem but it will definately be a problem for a newbie who doesn't know any better and that makes it bad for the hobby. This is My hobby and it's YOUR hobby ...... don't you care what happens to it?
Sending a message to the seller is allowed by ebay. It's called HELPING -
If I were the seller, I'd hope that someone would tell me that the coin isn't certified by PCGS if that is what I wrote in the description. Wouldln't you?

That's pretty nauseating that a guy would buy on overgraded piece of silver worth about $10 and try to flip it instantly for $750- I feel sorry that this seller thinks he can make a niche for himself by taking advantage of substandard grading company services and ignorant coin buyers...

To make money, all he has to do is sell it to somebody dumber than him.

I don't have the slightest bit of sympathy. The guy bought a coin for $50 and is now trying to sell it for $750.

It's a fixed price multiple item listing and has one left.

  • It is called the greater fool concept. This concept worked just fine for years in the stockmarket with internet and ecommerce ipo stocks. Stocks which did not even have a pe ratio because they had never made money. People paid moon money for them because a greater fool was sure to come along and pay more. Of course at some point someone was left holding the bag. I guess this is what those folks who bought the sae for 50 bucks thinks. Maybe, just maybe a greater fool will come along! But then again, they just may be left holding the empty "bag". image
