Talking to more and more dealers who are STYMIED on submissions right now. Both here and NGC.
They are ALL wondering what is happening. One batch comes back ridiculously high and the next just the opposite.
I know I looked at a MS64 Columbian commem today that I would have relegated to the circ box.
REALLY scrummy. GOOEY dirt on the hair, cheeks, shoulder, and dirty black all over. I sure can't figure out how someone could see UNDER that goop for wear.
I joked with the guy abt the grade an he laughed and said, "You'll notice I haven't SOLD it either."

  • To be honest about it, I have seen some questionable coins in PCGS and NGC slabs as well. Now, you don't see as many as you do in PCI slabs not by far. But, I also think ANACS doesn't get the recognition they deserve. And I believe NTC gets over slammed on their grades.

Just have to fall back on the old saying that everyone here uses:

BUY THE COIN, NOT THE SLAB!
