1859-P Half Dime "Hollow Stars" Type

ms70ms70 Posts: 13,946 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hi David,

I was wondering if PCGS might attribute this one year type on the labels? For those who don't know, this was the only year where each
star surrounding Liberty has a hole, or dimple, in its center making it appear "hollow". It seems it would be significant enough to note on
the holder as it was supposedly an intentional design change for that year. Surprisingly I seldom hear any talk of this specific type half dime.

Thanks!

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

We consider the "hollow stars" a design modification and not a seperate type. Another example o a design modification would be the several portrait changes for Bust halves.

    Thanks,

    David
