My first stab at a Conder Token

I bought this last week, I don't have a reference on these and have no idea what to pay or if I paid too much, but I like it so I bought it! In fact I don't even know when it was made, but I'd guess about 1790-1795 (perhaps Farthing can help with that question).

The edge reads "PAYABLE AT P. DECKS POST OFFICE BURY XX"

Copper tokens are very cool. I have a small collection of Breton Canadian coppers. Like 'em a lot.

The Middlesex Richardson's lottery token was one of my first Conder purchases also. Cool! image

(I approve, though- those things are cool- I might acquire the habit myself, one day.)

Oh, and you should be careful about stabbing old tokens and coins. But if you do take a stab at one, use a small, sharp instrument, and put a small, tidy hole near the top. Then you'll know who to send it to. image
