What if someone with an extensive collection wanted to fly you out to
their location for a couple days of coin photography work. Would you be
interested?

This is purely hypothetical, by the way. It just seems to me that it would
be well worth the cost to that sort of collector and you could make good
money doing it. Maybe someone that is getting ready to consign a large
collection to auction could stipulate that the auction-site use the
owner-supplied photos to insure their coins are shown to their best
(and accurate) advantage.

Neat scenario--a flight would be nice It would all depend on my schedule and the circumstances of where it is done. Part of the problem is pretty much need my desktop to do the cropping/minor adjustments... and that large a collection would take up too many memory cards to do the editing back here (then again, occassionaly I have to reshoot, anyway, when one coin just doesn't cooperate).

It would have been great to have someone like Shylock or Jeremy shoot good picks, for instance, the Larry Steve IHC variety sale by ANR. The large format photos were worthless. You might be onto something. Problem is, most dealers will stay with crappy scanned photos rather than pay for your services. Also, be sure you check their references before putting in alot of time and effort. It might end up being a big waste of time.
