Dennis Purdy Jr. wrote an article seven years ago that I am researching. Does anyone know how to contact him?

Or I found this link to his novel's publishing company. Says he lives in Lakewood, WA, with his two children. Just a guess, but those kids' names might be Jennifer and Nathan. If that's not them, you at least have some direction.
I was briefly a journalism major at USC and in my reporting class, one of our assignments was to simply get the home addresses of about 10 people - some famous, some simply connected to my professor (George Ramos of the Los Angeles Times, for what it's worth). General access to public records has tightened up a bit since then thanks to some high-profile stalkings, but I was amazed by how easy it was to find that kind of thing out. And that was before the Internet took off.
Ask him if he plans in sending out an issue this year while you're at it. As much as I love the magazine, I never thought my 12 issue subscription would last for a decade.

<< <i>I think Dennis Purdy is still promoting the Tacoma Dome show, and is fairly accessable. However, the current publisher of VCBC (Don Betz) is not known for lightning fast responses via email, so you might try calling him if it is urgent. I'm sure he will hook you up.

Do you know how they are in sending out the back issues? I ordered #9 and used PayPal. Hope they aren't flaky sending those out.
<< <i>I'm not all that familiar with it, but I'm sure you meant the fabled Hager article. >>
That's exactly what I want to talk to him about. I am one of 46 people he has sued for exposing his dealings in the coin industry. This piece that was in the July Numismatist (The ANA's monthly publication) pretty much explains it:

Alan Hager is a crook, and if he wants to sue me for saying that then so be it.

Sounds to me like he is a "PURDY" tough guy to get a hold of. LOL.

<< <i>Alan Hager is suing you? give me a break. >>
Yep. You can read the actual lawsuit here:
ACG Lawsuit
Towards the bottom of that page there is a link to a PDF copy of the actual lawsuit.
Check your pm's.
If he's suing you I can't imagine his response to Dennis Purdy's efforts. Is PSA still paying him royalties for the use of the 1-10 grading system he trademarked?
I'm sure the Net 54 board would be a good resource as well.

Wow! Check out this piece I pulled from the internet that states Alan Hager is a proven fraud. If you just put in Alan Hager, you can find all kinds of stuff on the guy. I had met him and talked a few times and found him to be very nice but that may be nice is a sociopathic way. Good luck. I hope a prudent judge with the proper input will find this to be frivolous and retalliatory in nature.

Here is another one where Hager's wife Diane addresses someone trying to interfere with Hager ebay auctions I believe.
And another where his coin grading company is ranked 3rd Tier and Unacceptable.

Reap the whirlwind.

I didn't get a chance to see his site. I got these from a past google search and saved them from reseach on him last year. I didn't mean to be redundant and would not want to waste anyones time. Thanx for the input.
Mike
edit: my interest in Alan Hager was sportscards - I had purchased an ASA 1961 Clemente which I felt was way, way overgraded. He is a gentleman and did refund my money - no questions asked. But, I found it interesting that someone who sells cards, owns a grading company - I did not know it at the time. I would never post and paraphrase just to hear myself talk.
Nick
I see what you mean now - the stuff I had pulled separately from the internet last year was actually provided by K6. Hope I didn't look too defensive - my bad.
<< <i>i can't open the pdf file since i don't have Adobe. can anyone possibly copy the text and email it to me at will_r_watson@hotmail.com ? thanks >>
Uh... It is free to download at Adobe.com.... fyi....
