The widow is back in your coin shop, she has slabs...

The widow has come back to your coin shop but this time, instead of junk, she has a PCGS box of 20. All of the coins are nice for the grade and all have substantial value. She has no idea what they are worth but wants to sell them now. What will you offer and why?

What really ticks me off is when I'm trying to sell a PCGS slabbed coin to a dealer at a show and he nitpicks the grade, claiming its at least one or two grades lower than what PCGS graded it. That doesn't fly with me. I wouldn't have bought it in the first place if it were so overly graded. Any dealer who tries that with me loses my business forever. If some dealers try that with certified coins, imagine how many peole got ripped off back in the wild west days of coin collecting, before 3rd party grading services existed!

Although I do not own a coin shop, hypothetically speaking I would offer her Certified Coin Dealer Newsletter (CCDN) Blue Sheet Prices.

I dunno. Hmmh! I'd offer her a fair price while my greedy side is argueing with my conscience. I'd have to capitalize somewhat. What...I dunno.image

Does she have a box of 2003 Dimes in MS-63 or does she have proof Seated stuff?

Depending what's in the box, but if its worth the effort and expense of slabbing the coins, they would be worth Grey Sheet Bid price... or close to it...image

How about the keys to my car. I'll swap her coins sight unseen for my car sight unseen.
