Guess the grade on my Morgan 1893-O

Thank you, Rare Coins of New Hampshire, for this original piece, which is the scarcest of all New Orleans mint Morgans. Okay, don't laugh, as this is an upgrade for me from another piece that came back bodybagged by PCGS as "tooled". Yes, I realize the picture is not the best, but what do all of my fellow coin nerds think?

Thank you everyone. It was sold to me raw as VF20 or VF25. I think she's VF20. Let me tell you, this date was TOUGH to find in original condition! I'm just glad I got one that I think can be graded by PCGS or NGC.

I think you are being a bit tough on it, I'm almost sure that will go higher, either 25 or 30. And you are right, the 93-O, along with the 95-O, is very tough to find in nice, circulated condition unmolested. I went through a couple that had been cleaned before I found this one:

I think that VF20-25 is alittle harsh, especially for what looks to be an original coin. VF30-35 is my opinion.

It certainly looks better than VF-25 to me. Those O mints were weakly struck, so the remaining details can fool you. For example, what if it was completely flat struck originally? A touch of wear and it looks XF.

You know, they are very hard to find in problem free AU. What is funny is I had two drop in my lap at the same time, the 53 pictured above, and a nice 50 which I wound up putting on eBay. It lasted about three hours on eBay.

Back to your coin dollardude, I really suspect PCGS would grade it at least 25, with a good shot at 30. That coin does not have enough wear to only grade 20, there is too much feather detail in the eagle's right wing.
