a couple of days ago I received a package in the mail from a board member. It contained

NGC MS64 1924 $1 with some very nice rainbow crescents on the obv. and rev!!!!!!!!

PCGS G4 1921d 50c. I sure LOVE key date coins in problem free condition and ANY grade!

The $1 was for my son and the 50c was for me! I was told that I owe him nothing and that if I send anything he will not cash it.

I really am at a loss for words. I thanked him and have emailed him several times wanting to pay!

He still says no!image

I'll try and post some pics later. Got to take the kids out and wear them out, I mean let them play.

  • There sure are some great folks here, Goose! When the hubby was purchasing gifts for me from a fellow forum member, that very generous member included a couple extras (freebies) just for me. image

I believe you and I agree on the members of this board. There are some truely amazing people here.Because of my Registry Sets,I was offered a pop 1 coin, which I bought for a fair price.I don't know if I was first, but was glad the owner at least considered me.

Fabulous, goose! Wow, a big tip o' the hat to that forum member!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Same here, 1 member also sent me, along with a coin I bought, some free coins at no cost and other goodies to get me started. Also a few times I get PM'ed about coins they see on Ebay, Superior etc.. that I may have interest in.

    Very cool...image

  • Far out!

The reason I always seem to return to these boards is that (MOST image) folks are top-notch.

Congrats, goose3. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

    Tell us who it was.

I'd be nice to people too if I knew there was some free coins in the deal.

I have met several good friends as well. Folks I otherwise would not have met. I hate to say it .... those seem to be the old days now. Your post gives us all hope. Not for the "gift"... the sentiment. K

the pic doesn't show it very well. the reverse has more and it is more of a rainbow and not a dark blob.

Nice!!! I'm just so happy others have taken a liking to toned Peace $. To me, a nice toned Peace $ is one of the more unique coins you can get. They might not have a monster rainbows like a lot of Morgans, but atleast you'll never see a case full of them at any show!!
