Whitman Type set question on Kennedys

Hi Gang,
I bought a whitman 20th century type set for my son and we started filling in up. His grandfather gave him some coins rough but (about good to fine) . The question i have is the whitman holder calls for a kennedy Silver clad and a Kennedy Cop nick clad. What is the difference. i know the cop nick clad but the silver clad?

Thanks in advance

This is Russ's fortay. I THINK the 65 & 66 are so much % age silver, everything thereafter is clad copper.
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
  • Silver clad is probably the 1965 thru 1970 40% silver issues. They had a copper core and 90% silver cladding.....Ken
  • 64"s were 90 % silver.........
    65-70 were 40 % silver.......... silver clad
71-on (except for special bi-centennial and silver proofs) were cupro nickel

Dang, it's hard to believe Kennedies have been out for 40 years......... I remember when they came out !!!!!!!!!
Makes them second in longevity behind the Seated series methinks........ Frankies ran 48-63 (15 years), Walkers 16-47 (31 years), Barber 92-15 (23 years), Seated 39-91 (52 years), Turbans 08-38 (30 years)

Seated Halves are my specialty !
Seated Half set by date/mm COMPLETE !
    Seated Half set by WB# - 289 down / 31 to go !!!!!
