What do you think of this 20-s Lincoln? (From May CS Heritage auction, anyone remember seeing it?)

This is the Heritage scan, pcgs ms64rd. I won it for $2300, but haven't seen it yet, as I still owe money on the "take six months to pay plan". I'm considering selling the other pcgs 64rd I have and then could pay this off, but the other one I have is pretty nice too so I don't want to make a mistake and sell the nicer of the two! Anyone remember seeing this coin? Anyone good at reading luster and color from the scan? Thanks!

Perhaps cleaning up the image can help you. Here you go. Looks like a nice coin to me.

If PCGS really gave him a RD designation, I believe the coin looks more like this. I believe heritage scans the images of their coins which would give them a washed out color and a little dark too. I simply lightened the picture with slightly more contrast and added 2 points of saturation to the picture. I also removed some cyan from the pic as well because some scanners have a bad deal of adding too much cyan to a picture. Kodak digitals also have this problem.

This is a very nice coin. You should be proud.

Isn't it amazing what you can do with digital pictures and a computer? I don't think you will KNOW if the coin you won is as nice as the coin you want to sell UNTIL you actually SEE them together in person. I would suggest you do nothing until that event occurs. Otherwise you may be very upset if you guess wrong. JMHO.

Thank you everyone. The description said light orange so color is probably good. I just hope the color is mostly even with okay cartwheel luster. I'm assuming the luster is not gem luster of course.

Yeah, that's what scares me, bidding so much money off an image that could have been enhanced. So far, every expensive coin I've got from Heritage I've loved. Only a 64rd 1913 I didn't like.

I'd been looking for a nice 14-S for quite sometime now, I've seen a lot with some ugly color but this one is pretty nice and go's nice with my MS64 14-D. Let me know if you decide to part with one of your 20's.

I agree with Steve.Wayne Herndon and I recently compared (2)PCGS 1909-S MS66 RD Lincolns.Mine and his.His was a bit darker in color and the E in E PLURBUS was only half there.Mine had a full E and was lighter in color.I sold him mine and left him to decide which to keep.I still don't know the outcome. Yours appears to have the same weakness as his.
