Help needed on Collectors Party held in New Jersey

Hello,

I had read a message on one of these Boards regarding a collectors party held in New Jersey. For some reason I can't find it now. I'm putting together a documentary on card collecting and with the host's permission, and hopefully if I can clear my schedule, I'd like to drop by with my film crew. Can anyone find that link or can someone get me in touch with the host and get more details.

I see the flyers I passed out are starting to work. I can't wait for the TV commercials to air next week. image

After seeing Spinal Tap, Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind, I have always thought that a documentary on card collecting would be very funny.

Don't know what kind of documentary can be utilized from Jim's party. Just a buncha guys talking sports & cards while eating & drinking. The only cards in attendance will be Jim's collection, so you wouldn't need the party angle to get coverage, unless you
plan to send the film to the food network as well, lately they've been doing a lot of barbeque shows...jay

    Rex,

That sounds like a fantastic idea for your documentary. The party in New Jersey will give your audience a perspective that they would not otherwise get. They will get to see every single one of the elite collectors in this hobby and one of the finest collections of sportscards ever assembled. Best of luck to you in your endeavor.

But this DOES sound like it might have a Spinal Tap sort of feel to it - doesn't it?

And does this mean that the thread has been pulled? (no big surprise if it was...)

Sports Card : The Movie !

coming to a theater near you soon.

Thrill to the sight of fat, balding, middle-aged men looking at pieces of cardboard.
Swoon at the spectacle of discussions of which should be Mantle's true rookie card.
See Jay of Quality Cards as you've never seen him before : sober ! Well, for a few minutes anyway.

Attend this film with a loved one, because you'll laugh, you'll cry,
you'll remember till the day you die, the night you went to see

WOLFIE - I shouldn't get the starring roll, that nod should go to the host, Davalillo.
As a matter of fact, I may not be able to attend. But if any board member wants the pleasure of seeing me pre- & post-sober, I will accept food & drink from anyone while at my stay in Cleveland next month. And perhaps at the PSA luncheon, I can make a real fool of myself before I pass out. image ...jay

Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

Or one about a Shortwave Radio Listeners convention - hundreds of people in a ballroom
holding Sony multi-band radios, each trying to hear "the New India on 12150", or each
trying to "OUT-DX" the other, while also battling the RF effects of computers, fluorescent lights,
    etc in the hotel.

1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards

This would make a good episode for the program "What's it worth?" on the "Yes" network.Your Yankees Sports and entertainment Channel.

Some expert fella in Sports memorabilia and some woman host the show and tell people what their collection is roughly worth.
