As you can see by my icon, I am a coin collector into Eisenhower Dollars but I also have alot of card from when I was a kid. After searching thru some boxes to get rid of thing I no longer use anymore I found a shoe box of baseball cards. I am just going to pick out what I think is important first. What I have found is:
500 count 1987 Topps box set ( I just realized last week that the box was not opened until I opened it. @&*^$# ) So, I don't remember but what players/cards are popular or worth grading...can anyone help me here.
1955 or 1956 Topps Card #31 Hank Aaron...looks pretty good...it is in hard plastic
approx 38 card from Topps 1988-1990 that have no picture on front and a few that are off centered w/o picture on front ( remember finding them when I bought them at Kmart ... I thought I got screwed at the time )
1991 Upper Deck Nolan Ryan Baseball Heroes Card #'s 16 and 18
1991 Score Nolan Ryan Card # 686
1990 Donruss John Smoltz card # BC-12 ** has the picture of Tom Glavine instead of John Smoltz ** Also have the correct 1990 Donrus John Smoltz card
(footbal)
1991 Pro Line Portraits - Kicker - Kevin Butler - Signed by player with certified stamp by NFL... I pulled this right out of the pack at the baseball card store... the guy there gave me a free hard plastic holder and said it was worth $50 that day...still have it..though it is probably not worth that anymore
1989 Pro Set Reggie White Card # 325 (signed in person in blue ink)
1989 Topps Reggie White # 108 (signed in person in blue ink)
That is all for now. Would any of these be a candidate for grading and by which grading company? Any help getting me some estimate values would be great.
The rest of the cards are in hard plastic boxes and range from year 1988 - 1992. If there is a website where I can go to for reference to find the popular players/cards, I would appreciate it. I am able to get images of cards if you would like to get a better understanding of a particular card.
Thanks in advance.

The only other card that could possibly be worth some cash would be the Aaron '55 or '56 Topps card. Depending on the condition, that could be some decent coin. It's probably in worse condition than you think if you don't have much experience in cards. o offense.

What are you looking for? To make money or to just have something? If you are looking to get rid of them at minimal cost/time to you dont have them graded. You have to "join" send wait.
If you are under no time constraint and dont mind spending to make a little more you would need to use PSA. They are the leader and generally get better return on your investment.
As for price guides. Try Beckett online at Beckett online you can search single players buy Card number name and year.
"Pretty Good" to you and "Pretty Good" (as I have learned) to PSA is a different thing. Do not get your hopes up.
If you do not join you can find dealers that will/can submit for you.
Does that help some?
Best suggestion: Keep the Aaron and the Reggie Whites. Give the rest away to a children's hospital.
Edit: So I guess there are not that many card from 1987 - 1991 worth keeping?
If I can make some money on the cards great but if they are not really worth anything, I am sure I can just give them to a family member who would love them and put them in their spokes to sound like a cool mototcycle.
The 1956 Aaron books for $175-$300 in NM condition. Not a big deal opening the 1987 Topps 500 count (probably a vending box). Nothing of any great value in that 1987 Topps set (#320 Bonds $10, #366 McGwire $4, and #634 Palmeiro RC $2 High book values). You might get a premium from a Reggie White collector, otherwise there's not alot of value in '89 Topps or Proset. I'll have to get back to you on the Proline Portraits. Cards from that time period ('88-'92) were mass produced and the volume of available product keeps the values very low.

I'm in the same boat with coins. My dad left me some Morgan $ and other old coins when he passed and I know nothing about them. I recently sold some of them and I have some left. I might have some Franklin's or Eisenhower's. Any help would be appreciated.
