How is this happening? High prices on Ebay?

I've been selling my collection and have all my circed Barber Halves on Ebay right now.

Some of them are selling for OVER redbook!

What the hell? Why is this?

How are these heavily circed Barber Halves going for over redbook?
Why the demand? Is this an Ebay thing?

My theory is that there are collectors who live in the middle of nowhere. Instead of a multi-hour drive to the nearest coin store, they prefer to pay for the convenience of Ebay.

Perhaps your coins are actually nicer than you think.

The RedBook's not always right... although it's not bad. Also, remember that original, circulated coins aren't always easy to find... so many have been played with that many people have the choice of unaffordable high grades or damaged coins--original coins get nice premiums.

Are you talking about the 2004 or the 2005 edition for the Redbook.

Go and take a look at a lot of the other Barbers on eBay. A lot of them are cleaned and/or have problems. Problem free full Good and aboves usually go above sheet price. Now I could see complaining if they were going under sheet, but not when they are going over! You better be careful or you might jinx your auctions!
