Another newbie question

I've been searching thru rolls of coins I get from the bank (therapy of course!). I have noticed quite a lot of 1999 BU lincolns most with a mirror finish. I also noticed the same for 1995 lincolns.

Why are there so many BU found in rolls for these years but not too many of other years? (Only referring to 1999 or before).

Just wondering

Thanks

  • Maybe it is just chance? The Mint makes billions of cents each year. It is certain there are many rolls of BU cents out there. It seems to me many rolls will get stuck in a corner of some bank for a while...

You're likely to see quite a few curious things like this over the next several months.
Coin has been flowing into the fed because of the sluggish economy for some time now.
As the economy continues to pick up steam and mintage of new coin continues ti increase
there will be a flow of coins out of storage that have been there for up to about six years.
Normally there is only a three year turnover at the fed but the states coins and slow economy
    have combined to lenghten this.

Check out your profile(top of the page, second over), at the bottom of it, you'll find a bunch of icons to choose from.
