Is former S D chargers tackle Terry Owens (played late 60's-mid 70's) and wrestling star HULK HOGAN

This question has been bothering me for a long time? see ebay item# 5102726748 to see picture of card. i also have his topps 1975 card# 256 -head shot with no mustache- look at the face you can swear its him. i have been told by serveral reputable card dealers in my area that is him....however he doesn't acknowledge cause he doesnt want to be associated w his pro football carrer-steroid association of football players from that era is the reason. i've looked all over the web when i've put both name together nothing came up. his birthday on his web site says 1954-which would make him 50...this card of terry owen shows dob in 1944-born in san diego , california- i believe hogan say he's from there. i knw i've been told by heresay that's its him......but is there anyone out there that can confirm this..or would have some additional knowledge ? ........thanks

I fell outa my chair laughing at that one......I do believe though it is possibly him. now back to the steroid issue. Are not the pro wrestlers the biggest users of such drugs??

From "Collecting Football Cards" by Mike Bonner :

"The hoax concerns the cards of former San Diego Charger tackle Terry Owens.
The false rumor is that he later bloomed into superstar wrestler Hulk Hogan.
Today Owens is a State Farm agent. He is not and never has been Hulk Hogan."

Cool rumor though ... sorry to ruin it image

Here's another image of Owens, if you still think he looks like Hogan then you ought to get a new pair of glasses.

And hasn't Paul McCartney been dead since the Abbey Road album? Who is that guy impersonating him anyway?

This rumor has been going on for many years. I'm not sure, but I think Terry Owens is originally from Tennessee or Kentucky, or another southern state. His nickname was actually "Gomer" when he was in the NFL, due to his resemblance to Gomer Pyle.

Anyway, he did NOT become Hulk Hogan.

Didn't Paul from the Wonder Years go on to become Marilyn Manson?

Hogan is Terry Bollea, no more, no less.

You have to like the scene from one of the Rocky movies with the Hulk - the benefit match where he is Sweetlips or something like that (sure someone else recalls and can correct). That was over 25 years ago and the dude is still in action. Must be genetics and conditioning.

Hey a subject I can relate to.

Hogan has been "out" of wrestling for about a year. If you saw him you could understand why. Everything dropped about 6 inches. Well some stuff I can not comment on. Same with Ric Flair cept his dropped more then a foot!! and he is still wrestling. Both those guys are pushing mid 50's.

    Ric Flair: February - 25 - 1949

    Hulk Hogan:Birthday: August 11, 1953

Randy Savage:Birthday: November 15, 1958 While still 5 years Hogans senior he stayed in shape and "apparently" was not a roid user. Everything has more or less stayed in place. Speaking of Savage he was a minor leaguer for the Reds and supposedly had a "promising" career until hurting his arm. Anyone have any pictures or minor league cards? This would have been mid to late 60's.

  • I had no idea Savage was that old. He was in awesome shape for Spider Man 2 years ago.

Ive been a Savage fan for as long as I can remember. He just recently released a RAP CD. He is still "in shape" albiet a little smaller but still pretty well defined, and still wanting to get into the ring.

  • thanks for clearing up the matter. it just semed plausable from what i've heard in the past. there is a strong resemblence in the facial features disregarding the hair of corse. i'm surprissed though hogan is only 51-considering i remember him as far back as the late 70's in the wwf. he was oviously in his early 20's when he started in the wrestling bus.
