Grassroots effort for a great prize

I just got a great idea.

Let's start a grassroots effort here on the board, similar to the Davey Fund. I am officially campaigning starting NOW to get the 50 free gradings. I would really appreciate it if you guys would get behind me on this. This can be all kinds of fun.

What's in it for me, you ask?

<< <i>What's in it for me???? >>

Well I'm glad you asked. If my campaign is successful, and I do receive the prize, I will offer 25, that's right, HALF of all the grades, to the first 25 posters who support me on this. Just post something to the effect of "Yeah, Jeff, this is a great idea and PSA should support your tomfoolery." Then, if/when I am declared the Ultimate World Champion of the World in the PSA Super Sweepstakes Raffle-Off, just send me a card and it will go with the good old submission.

Of course, Nolan Ryan guys will receive 2 grades, cause we're just like that.

Feel free to post why you think I'm worthy of such a prize.

The fun part - post what you think I should do to "earn" my victory. Stuff that would make PSA sit back and be happy to give these grades away in a public forum like this instead of randomly. Think of stuff that I can do that will give PSA some positive press that's worth the money they're losing. Get creative. Tattoos and piercings are not options. Scumbi. go get a bottle of Old GrandDad and go nuts. I'm expecting this to fill up pretty fast, so when the 25 spots are filled, I will post the names of the lucky winners.

And a final note- any attempt to hijack this thread like has happened recently will result in you looking like the guy who beat the kid up for a foul ball.

Man, I've been cooped up in the library for 14 hours today writing a research paper on Virginia Woolf, and I forgot that it was possible to have fun on a computer.

    Paint your car white.

Then paint the PSA logo, telephone number, and URL on both sides and the roof (figure approximately 3 feet by 3 feet).

Then flee from police and get in a low speed car chase that is covered on national TV. image

edited to add: "Yeah, Jeff, this is a great idea and PSA should support your tomfoolery."

    Jeff;

Must I remind you that you owe respect to your family members. You have come to us for "help" in the past, and now I think it's time that I call upon you to do a service for me.

My offer to you? You must put me, Scott, Brent, Larry, Steve, and Dan all that the top of your list. Out of respect, you must give us each 25 free grades for a total 300 free grades. You may do as you please with the 50 grades if you win them, but make no mistake, we have now asked you for a service on behalf of the family.

I expect this is an offer you can't refuse.

Yes - bring this thread back from the dead! I have 16 hours of library in front of me tomorrow. I will need something fun when I get done. So far the lucky (gonna be) winners are:

    pandrews
    NickM
    con40 (x2)
    bighurt4 (x2)

Steve, Larry, and Scott, I know you guys are lurking. You still gotta post on here to keep it legit.

So far this whole idea is going over like a fart in church image

You have my full support as well as my wishes that it goes better for you than the Davey Fund did.
  • Hi Mudflap02,

I haven't been able to lurk, internet useage at work is being scrutinized and I'm trying to stay off peoples radar. Hope you win the submissions, but I seriously think it will go to a big spender type.

Hey, I'm a Nolan Ryan guy too. I'm way down at the bottom of the list, but 2 of them are OPC, they're all from his Angels days, and I bought one of them off CON40.

And I said to paint the car white. Burgundy-brown went out with Starsky and Hutch and doesn't show off the logo well.
