1969 & 1965 Boston Red Sox Team sets now live on the registry

I just received an email from BJ letting me know that these 2 BoSox team sets were ready and waiting for you all to add them to your registry sets. I'm talking to you Duncan !

The weightings weren't quite what I wanted but I see the logic in PSA's weights.

The MLB collection has already posted the 1969 set at 100%. Do we know who this is? Good to see someone making use of this set, how about a little more competition?

I'd like to have just a PSA 7 Yaz. Both of my raw cards would be 5's at best. I'm gonna be # 10 on this set before long .

i collect 1965 and am a red sox fan, so I will throw mine in as well.
quick question for you:
do you collect red sox team cards?
i would ask to add a set to the registry, but i don't know if anyone collects them.
i am talking just the red sox team cards with the team photos on them.
i've got 1956-67, 70-81 and also the last few years as well.
there is an orioles on up there as well but that one includes leaders and stuff, which i am not interested in.

Dave, I don't collect the team cards just a bunch of different individual players ......Yaz, Evans, Fisk, petrocelli, Scott, Rice and odds & ends of others. Basically I put the team sets together because I'm collecting the regular sets in those years. At some point I'll be adding my '77 Sox which only Phil Apostle has on there right now. Probably willventure into the Yaz master set as well. If the team card set is something you're interested in, I say go for it ! That is at least in part what the registry is about, to display your graded collection.

sellerman, I collect the team cards of the redsox, don't have them all but odds and ends throughout. I was planning on requesting the set once I finished so I think that is a good one to add. also, doing a 73 ( my birth year ) red sox opc team set right now. the topps is to easy so I wanted a challenge. need 3 more , they are just a pain to find raw and none are really graded.

dave, if you request it then I will add my search and work on this a little more. I just checked and due to my lasyiness I missed about 6 card I could have picked up and been well on the way. I have most of them raw but only a handful graded so far. don't forget the 75 mini when you put in the request.

There were no team picture cards from 1982-2000 nor 2002. In 2003, Topps made Gold and Black bordered versions of each card, but in a limited quantity (black being the rarest with I believe only 52 of each card made - I got outbid on the only 2 I ever saw on eBay, the gold being easier to obtain)

So I figured that the set sticks to the mainstream Topps cards with only team photos on top. Any suggestions or comments?
Am I missing anything?

Dave looks great. I agree to leave out those limited production cards. It's abad enough I am going to have to look for 2001-2004 cards.

what do you think about the fleer team stickers like 82,83? what about opc? i don't think there are many more cards since opc didn't do full runs every year, it may take a little research.

My gut it stay with mainstream Topps team cards. It makes the set easier to complete if one were so inclined to do so. I have seen longer yellow-bordered ones from 1951, but they were not very mainstream at all. I have seen only two in the last 4 years. So no way am i going to include them!

Did the Fleer stickers have team pics on them?
And OPC are pretty rare, esp. the older ones.

Unless you really want to push for them, I would opt not to include them in the proposed PSA set registry set.

the fleers had team logos. I jsut mentioned it because I got one the other day when I opened a pack.

Looks like they will add it.
I just sent you a PM with the email exchange between BJ and I.
She wanted one just like the Oriole set, but it seems I had to convince her that all we wanted was the team cards only.
Let me know if you are interested in some of the raw and graded dupes I have.
