Grades in today - made from raw sets

I sent these in from raw sets. I thought all had a shot at cameo designation except the 1951 Lincoln. The strongest ones were the ones graded as such (cameo).

I'm happy with the 1951 Lincoln as I was hoping to upgrade my registry with that coin. The 1950 Jeff was a raw that I bought on the chance that it could go dcam. Still good value in that coin.

- 1954 1C USA PR63CA
- 1954 5C USA PR67
- 1954 10C USA PR65
- 1954 25C USA PR67
- 1954 50C USA PR65CA

- 1951 1C USA PR67RD

I need to take a class for grading the Roosies. I am still overexpecting on these.

I just sent in a 1954 proof set also. I really thought I would get some cameos out of the deal but no go....

I think I need to start using the same lighting set up to view the coins. Maybe I'm trying to stare cameo into a coin?

Make sure you keep those coins that "just missed" - they are a valuable reference. With experience, you will be able to better predict what other coins will grade by comparing them with your "reference" coins. Consider the money you spent on these coins as a valuable investment. PCGS is not as inconsistent on cameos as some might believe. I have kept a number of "just miss" cams in addition to my sets to do direct A vs. B comparisons before I spend the money to get them graded.

    Cameonut,

That's a great idea to keep the 'just misses' as a reference. I have kept some cams for examples but not the 'nots'.

    Thanks
