1 Thread Rule Not Working

Can we please come to the realization that the 1 thread rule does not work?
I have been trying my best to follow it, after I posted my trade thread I let it go for over a week before I put a thread for an individual piece.
It's hard to show the tree from the forest on one thread.
Even my good friend Larry (PQPeace) has 2 threads on the first page!
Granted HJP's 4 threads may seem excessive but if you were to put all those coins in one thread the whole thing seems overwhelming.
How many of you have gone HERE and decided it was just too much!
This may sound stupid, but what if CU supplied a server were we could create multiple threads for all that we have for sale. Then our threads on the BST board would have a link to the various threads on the server?
HJP could build the 4 threads there, post once on the BST board with links to them?

I don't see what on earth is so hard about practicing a little respect and courtesy for others.
<< <i>4 threads may seem excessive >>
MAY? it clearly IS. It is RUDE and not fair to anyone that posts here.

I just went and looked. Exactly WHAT is too much? the prices? because your thread is just fine with all those listings.
I think it takes a lot of nerve to come on this board and complain that you can't "show the tree from the forest on one thread". You are receiving the service for free.
I say either abide by the unwritten rules of courtesy or pay for an ad in coinworld.
By the way, this thread is OT and just knocked someone off of the first page that had something legitimately for sale.
As I have now been informed of my breach of forum etiquette, in the future I will combine multiple offers to one post. I apologize for my error.
Best Regards,
HJP
I have seen people put a thread up, it get to the second or third page, then them put another tread up with some additional coins in it, then someone bumps thiier first thread to the top. Then the seller has a couple of threads on the first page. I have no problem with that since I dont think there was an intent for spaming there.

Cool! Thanks.
I don't think its a hard rule to follow, and as for ALL OF OUR TEMPERS, I feel thats also justified as alot of us have been attacked on many occassion, only to see the poeple doing the attacking ignoring their friends doing the same.
Lets all just try and be conciderate and follow Sportsmoderators suggestions. We will all be better off in the long run
as for HJP, he was not aware of the rules and is a very conciderate and apologetic person, and I apologize to him if he felt I was singling him out

I don't want to bash Peaceman, he's been a member for 2 years. So he should know the 'rules', right?
He was close to obeying them when he placed a thread on Saturday, 2 on Sunday (shame on you) and another today. He TTT the 3 placed over the weekend, so he had 4 threads on the 1st page. This is allowed, but is it so different than 4 placed at the same time?
Once again, I am not bashing Peaceman, just making a point.
Funny no one has commented on the server idea.
What if there was a server for the body of a thread, then the thread was on the BST board.
As an example, Peaceman had a thread called "Peace Dollar VAM's".........inside the thread were
1923 PEACE DOLLAR VAM 1C “TAIL ON THE O” 1 OF 15 KNOWN
1923 PEACE DOLLAR VAM 1B DB0-2A "EXTRA HAIR" NGC MS-61. RARE.
http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=296431">1922 PEACE DOLLAR VAM 2C EXTRA HAIR NGC MS-62. RARE.
1923 PEACE DOLLAR VAM 1A WHISKER JAW. NGC MS-63. RARE.
Links would be added as needed & titles updated. Then members would only need one thread, or at least would only have to have one 'live' thread.
BTW... I have MORE coins for sale....hehe... and I'm GOING to put them all in one thread.... real soon.....

Ok, I follow the rules....I post a thread on Sunday, another on Monday & TTT the Sunday thread, post another on Tuesday, ttt Sunday's & Monday's......on & on, you get the idea.
I have followed the letter of the law if not the spirit.
So this is OK?
Every time a newbie joins he get flame-broiled because he doesn't know the unwritten rules?
Members have stated that they refuse to buy from multi-threader, cool, I can understand that.
Others reply to the multiple threads stating the fact that the member has multiple threads! Thereby TTT the multiple threads & knocking threads to page 2, something we are trying to prevent.
Then there are those who write an OT thread (like this one, sorry) who again drop someone down one.
All I'm saying is even when rules are followed there are loopholes that might upset members with the daily ttt of multiple threads. Do we say that members can only TTT ONE thread once a day, that way if there are 2 thread one is TTT every other day? 3 threads - 1 TTT every other day?
One last comment pontiacinf, if my tread was not too busy, why is it that after nearly a month I had not gotten a repsonce on the 1885-S MS64. But now that nearly all the rest have been traded I have gotten 4 members asking about it?
I'll bet if I posted a single thread spotlighting the coin I could sell or trade it.
Just some thoughts.
I think you did pretty well, all things considered. What percentage of the coins listed did you sell or trade? almost 70% of the Morgans went, and I did placed bids on the ones you listed on eBay.
I made repeated efforts to include the 81-CC and 93-CC in trade offers. I'd still be interested in the two coins, but I know my past offers have NOT met the prices you expected to get for the coins.
I agree with Bill that your post was clear and very easy to read. I think you could have highlighted a few pieces in the title to get special attention to them.

It's Saturday morning & look.....rhedden has TTT 2 threads he created on Thursday.
WAIT! What's this I see....Mike Dixon also has 2 threads he created on Tuesday TTT'ed!
AND both of Mike's threads deal with with the same AAA Live aution.......shame on you Michael!
All of this is presented in jest, I don't want MD or rhedden to think of me as some enemy or flamer, because I I feel without an administrator with a strong FIST this wheel will never be fixed, it may not be completely broken, but when some of the veterans here continue to break/bend the rules my point is valid.
This thread just bumped MD off page 1....sorry
Just making a point.......that unless this rule is enforced people will continue to post multiple threads.....oh, HTubbs just posted 3 Threads!
I've only posted a handful of times on this forum since joining 4 months ago and I didn't know the unwritten one-thread rule. I deleted my offending second thread at your bidding. Please don't indict me as a "veteran" who is bending the rules.
Other forums I have been to have "sticky" messages with forum etiquette guidelines clearly posted. Just a suggestion.
rhedden, that was not directed at you, in fact I think I wrote that before you posted your multiple threads.
& thanks for the idea of "sticky" messages with forum etiquette guidelines clearly posted.
Does anyone know if that's doable here?
