Mercateers: Passing Signals are On ;)

Well... ok, it doesn't effect most of you, just those of us lowly people down at the bottom image I'm currently ranked like 50 something image in the Registry. I just paid Wayne for the 1939-D in MS67FB, my highest graded Merc, and also the most I've ever spent on a coin... image Also hopin for that other MS67 to arrive sometime... someone who bought something from the same seller a couple days before my auction, just left a neutral b/c of 2 1/2 weeks to deliver. I'm probally going to end up Negging this guy when the coin arrives... he said it would be shipped Monday, and Auction says Priority Mail. Been a week and it hasn't arrived. I will check the post marked date, and then decide if it's the POs fault, or his...

image I won't be challenging those top spots any time soon... image Just workin on the '34-'45 Short Set, I'm including the 1945 Micro-S, which is in the w/ varities set, though that would mean I'd need the 42/41 overdates too... image But the NGC basic sets include the Micro-S...

    George,

Dont be quite so quick to send a negative because your coin is a couple days late. I know you want it in hand, but sometimes patience is needed. For example, Wayne asked me for a couple of days before he pulled the 19-S I bought from him out of his set.

It is no problem, as I will have the coin for many years. Oh, and my passing signal is also on.

Well... it's more the poor communication that irks me, if he had sent an e-mail, I would have been perfectly understanding... he left positive feedback Sunday nite, stating it would be shipped Monday, it has not arrived. I sent an E-Mail to him Thursday, and thus far, no answer...

    Hi George,

    Congrats on the aquisition!image
I'm with DeepCoin on this one.....Don't to so quick to neg......You just never know.
Kind of like that car weaving in and out of traffic that almost runs you off US98......Yeah, you shot
him a bird and cursed him, but you never know.....He may have had a screaming wife in labor in
the back seat. In orther words...sometimes sh1t happens, and there was nothing he could do about it.

However, if he charges you for priority and then ships regular first class.....That's another story!image

  • don't worry, it'll take a while to get to the top, i've been working hard on it for two years now and i'm just breaking the top 20's and its not going to be easier when you get there either. Keep up the work!!!

  • I'm new to the registry also. I to just purchased a Merc from Wayne in the last two months and he will get it to you within 10 days generally. The best thing is that the communication lines are open between Wayne and his customers. Waiting a few extra days can will only allow you to enjoy your coin that much more when it does arrive. I figure its going to take me 7 years+ to complete this set in the higher grades. So why rush! HA! Good luck in your future searches for your registry type coins. Mike

Well, I got the Merc from EBay in the mail today, happy about that. Also got the package from Wayne, but he put the wrong coin in image I've contacted him, but he has not been online yet today.
