GOETZ: Opus 270 On the Agenda in Spa

K-270 ON THE AGENDA IN SPA (Tagesordnung in Spa) , 1920, Cast AE, 59.2mm, 62.20g.

German disarmament as spelled out in the Versailles Treaty is the topic. The obverse depicts the various conditions (not complete), such as the armed forces restricted to 100,000 soldiers, surrender of all dirigibles, reduction of ship tonnage, reparations in the form of coal and gold supplies, and the prosecution of all war criminals. Note the needle in the eye at the top of the obverse. The reverse depicts German Michel hardly able to carry the book containing all the rules of the Treaty.

Yes, another nice one, and you could also have shown it on the ship thread.

This is why Austria cannot field submarines to this day ... even though the A-H empire was broken up and is nowhere near a sea. (You see, their tiny force had deeply embarassed the Italian and British navies and that slight could not stand unredressed.)
