  • I'm looking to purchase some ancient coins that were in circulation around the time of Christ. These are for my lady so I would like them to be in pretty nice condition. If anyone has something along the lines of what I'm looking for, please PM or email me with description, price and pictures if possible. Thanks!

(edited to add): If someone could point me to a good website for the above coin(s) I would also appreciate that very much. Thanks again.

    1841 - 2 Annas - KM 459.2 - BU+ condition - $9.00 each (about 6 to 8 available)

    1840 - 1/4 Rupee - KM453.4 - BU+ condition - $12.00 (about 6 available)

NOTE: Most of the EIC silvers are bag uncs., meaning even if I've designated them as AU, they are really not technically circulated, but the have a few more bagmarks and hairlines than the better pieces offered.
Either way, Krause is $20 for each type in unc.

    British India

    1862(c) A/I - 1/4 Anna - unlisted - similar to KM467, but minted on the smaller 25.3-4mm planchets.
7 available - all choice unc. or better, and mostly red, too. Nice lustre on each. $12.00 each

    1874(c) - 1/4 Anna - KM467 - near choice unc. - nice red lustre. - $14 each (2 available)
    1874(c) - 1/4 Anna - KM467 - gem unc. - fiery red lustre. - $18 each - SOLD

    Switzerland

1963B - 1 franc - KM24 - Choice to Gem BU (all from an original SwissBank roll) - $5.00 each
1965B - 2 franc - KM21 - Choice to Gem BU (all from an original SwissBank roll) - $8.00 each

The following are MacSelected special coins just in from Switzerland. The grades are what I feel PCGS would slab them at, but why pay $16 for coins which are no more than $50 raw. They're very nice - and I guarantee you'll like 'em or happy refunds issued.

    1952 - 1 Fr - MS65+/66 - $22
    1953 - 1 Fr - MS65 - $37
    1955 - 1 Fr - MS66+/67 (hybrid EA: meaning a one sided specimen striking) - $52
    1956 - 1 Fr. - MS65+ $20

    1958 - 2 Fr. - MS66+ $26
    1959 - 2 Fr. - MS66+ $24

1919 - 5 Rappen - Superb Gem - as nice as you'll ever come across - offered au naturale for $55........I have it's twin in at PCGS now for someone's type set.

United Kingdom - maybe more later next week image

    1924 1/4 d. - I'd say a nice MS63RB - $12

    1913 1/2 d. - MS63BN - $42

1952 1/2d. - nice choice AU (what most would call unc.) - $4

1927 1d. - UNC. with some lustre...lavender highlights on some of the high spots - $35
