Ebay Question

If there's a "Buy It Now" item with no auction, is it frowned upon to send the seller an e-mail making him an offer for the card?

of course not, ebay is like a yard sale.
offer what you want, all he can do is say no.
keep it friendly, and go for it !
I do it all the time.

  • If you are talking about an item from the sellers store where the Buy it Now ends the auction, the seller is pretty much telling you what he/she will take for the item. It never hurts to ask because the worse thing they can say is "no." This is, more than likely, what you're going to get in this scenario. Just my $0.02. image

I don't think it would hurt to ask, many times a seller will put a BIN price out there for a while to see if anyone bites. If it has been kicking around for a while, you might tempt him with a decent offer.

I have actually done this several times
    (with success I might add)

the key is to wait a while, because they rarely
want to deal right after they got it up...
and to make sure you make a resonable offer.
Don't go in offering a rediculously low offer
and expect anything but a no.

I also like to look at CLOSED auctions for items
like this that did not sell at all, then I offer less
in an off-ebay deal so they can save the trouble
of relisting it. That goes over big.

How do you search closed auctions?

Under advanced search, check the box for "completed items only". That should do it.

ust do any search on ebay

then look in the "Search Options" on the LEFT side of the screen
and one of them is "Completed Listings"

    Check that option and then
    click the SHOW ITEMS button
    below that

It worked. I found a closed auction on a 1952 Bowman Phil Rizzuto PSA 6 and got it for $78 delivered. SMR is $110. Thanks boys!
