In order to keep my collection small, I am forced to sell coins I like in order to buy coins that better fit my current collecting goals. This very original, handsome 1854-O $10 is one of those coins. I do this with some reservation because nice, original No Motto New Orleans gold is very tough to find and even more difficult to replace. Nonetheless, it must go to make room for something else. Trends in 45 is $1100. Greysheet quarterly is $530 in 40 and $1200 in 50. (As an aside, it is very annoying to me that greysheet only reports a small number of the grades and fails to report the grades most commonly seen in No Motto gold). The coin, recently crossed from an NGC holder, is offered here for $860, delivered.
