The new 1901 to date Krause
They suckered me in again. Just made a quick once over but there is no big change
in the pricing of the later date coins. A few individual ones have been raised 20% to
1000% but it's few and far between and most are closer to the low end than the high.
There are supposed to be a million price changes, but the only extensive changes I've
seen are in European silver. They've added pricing in a lot of grades- - this may be
counted toward that million.
Next time I won't buy another until after I've seen the changes. Saw a few typos.

Another point might be made that recommendations have been posted to not buy the catalog.

in the later dates than I noticed ther first time through. There are still many rarities
listed for under a dollar and many of those which they did increase still list for nominal
prices, but there is a real step in the right direction. The coins I've spent more time and
effort on are less affected by the increases which affected my initial assessment.
It may not be fair to only pick at the Krause's faults since it is a great reference and
brings a huge amount of information into a single volume, but they've again moved
many countries around. The photos are not up to their usual high standards and one
must still be carefull of typos and misprints. Some coins which have always been pic-
tured no longer have pictures. Judging it by Krause's standards it's just a D+ but it
deserves a B for effort. If you need a reference book or if you have an interest in later
date circulating world coinage it is still a must.
What I'd really like to see is a new Coincraft!
