What's the Deal with GAI?

I submitted some old unopened packs 7 weeks ago and am still waiting for them to be returned. Customer service has been slow to respond. Just a heads up for those of you hoping to get your packs graded within the "guaranteed" time frame. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I once was looking forward to seeing the GAI registry. I know of one individual that paid for a GAI membership about 2 months ago and is still waiting. That is just plain stupid on their part.

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

    << <i>Has anyone else had a similar experience? >>

    GAI pulls this stuff repeatedly.
they screw up, lose something, delay for months
and IF you complain, they say it was unavoidable
(usually blamed on their holders... seriously)
and then throw "free grades" at you...

then, mark my words... it will happen again....
on those free grades! and again on your next order...
    and the next
    and the next
    etc....

    stick with PSA.
GAI will continue to Screw you
like they have so many others (besides envoy I guess) that
have TRIED to use them (including myself...

So if no one else is slabbing packs and/or boxes,
then I will just leave mine Unslabbed and continue
to send my cards to PSA... rather than waste my time
and my money trying to get GAI to do something,
fight with them, argue with them, fight some more,
get nothing but excuses, and free grade slips so
that I can start that fun process all over again..... No thanks.

****this rant is copied from a previous GAI thread about same topic****
(do a search in this forum or Registry forum for GAI and see how
    many people hate them...)

*shrugs* I actually hate the GAI (and SGC) holder. The reason is the black plastic insert. Sure it improves the contrast of white-border cards. But I can't imagine how having another moving part in there with the card can be good.

I also just spent 5 minutes on GAI's web site and can't seem to find a link to their pop report. Anyone? Bueller??

So full of action, my name should be a verb.
  • my orders always seem to be ready in a couple of weeks guess i am just lucky? also i fill out the forms completely and mark the holders just like psa it helps with ease but i must admit i have sent in very few packs so i cant comment much on those turnarounds. Also i have found Mike and Steve to be A+ in all my dealings with them that is more then i can say for another company. also i happen to love the gai holder though i hate the bigger clunkier sgc holder how can you not love the top holder labeling it makes it so much easier to locate cards when going through boxes.image

  • I don't know what kind of cake but GA would get all my business if they'd include a pop-tart when they return my free submissions.

"sticking" to PSA requires having money! And who has any of that?
