Aha.. kinda a resemblance to Ray..

PA - doesn't look like Ray at all. Why your original post anyway? Figured you knew who Ed Charles was, and ergo, humor. But guess it was just some kind of mocking of a legend who has overcome an extreme challenge and disability. image

dude shut the F*&* up.. why my original post? because Ray Charles died... you dumb sh!t..

you made some dumbas$ assumption that i "have him confused with Ed Charles"..

PhillyFan made a humorous post that probably flew right over your head..

I'm mocking a legend? How did I show any disrespect to Ray Charles? He was blind.. He had a hit song called "Georgia on my mind"..

the only reason i mentioned a "kinda a resemblance to Ray" was to give some kind of legitimacy to why you would even mention "The Glider".. gimme a break.. if you "figured I knew who Ed Charles was", then why did you feel the need to educate me?

As I said sarcastically on a past thread..

Dirty Harry "HERO OF THE FORUMS!"

edited to say as for your "ergo, humor".. like i said earlier, 2 or 3 humorous posts flew right over your head without you catching them..

moderator pull this thread.. otherwise i'm gonna keep responding..

any "mocking" of the legend Ray Charles, was when you insinuated that he could POSSIBLY even be mistaken for some guy named Ed..

also, this is my new icon.. like it? i think i'll keep it for awhile..

Well, I apologize for not recognizing that there are folks who may be seriously ignorant. I guess I should understand that when someone posts a thread entitled "Ray Charles RIP" and then subsequently asks a question "did he play ball", that this question is being asked in earnest, because the individual asking the question is that ignorant or uninformed. I must refrain from passing judgement on the intent of such an ignorant person's post and understand that they are attempting to gain knowledge, so that they may be able to better participate and function in society.

uhhh... sure.. whatever you just said.. idiot..

yeah, you obviously didnt understand sarcasm of "did he play ball".. as i said, it went right over your head..

you evidently thought your "Ed the Glider" post was hilarious.. you were even so impressed with it that you expected me to go "look it up".. heh.. i think your feelings were hurt when the only interest I showed in your stupid question was my response of "no idea"..

If i need to explain it to you, I was simply stating that Ray Charles died.. i threw in the "Did he play ball?" because this is a sports card forum and I posted a *gasP* non-sports related topic..

BTW - you never said if you like my new icon or not..

dude.. i usually try to avoid dictionaries.. but uhh.. do you REALLY think there is a difference in "sarcasm" and "satire"??

you seriously need to look up the word "SARCASM".. you will see that it is synonymous with "SATIRE".. now, do you need me to explain what "synonymous" means?

sheesh.. and i thought you were educating me on who the hell "Ed the Glider" is.. but instead, i'm giving you an education on the english language...

PA - my ignorant friend. If you think satire and sarcasm are synonyms, then you further illustrate my point. I feel sorry that you are embarrasing yourself in a public forum such as this. Why don't you just PM me with any further ignorant thoughts you have so that this can move out of the public forum. Your deluded attempts to cover up your ill advised post are evident to anyone reasonable.

Irrelevant and futher demonstrates your ignorance when you have to cut and paste something from the dictionary. Albeit (look that up) when it is a clip. You are getting off the point being that your post is ignorant, and a reflection on yourself. As I said, please PM me and I will be happy to try to help you through your issues.

Irrelevant? YOU ARE THE ONE who said "satire" and "sarcasm" are different.. You seemed to think it was VERY relevant until you realized you didnt know what the hell you were talking about..

As for cutting & pasting from the dictionary.. uhh.. yeah, thats what you SHOULDVE done before you opened your mouth to show how little you know..

no, i wont PM you.. i'd rather respond to your dumbas$ posts in a public forum..

whats up with the PM's you send me anyway? you already told me in a PM a few days ago that you have a difficult time distinguishing sarcasm.. (see below)

Each one adds to the perception of your ignorance in the forum. But you don't realize this, because you are ignorant. >>

dude.. how MANY times did you use the word "ignorant" in that message? 5 times? While you're in your dictionary/thesaurus, maybe you can find some words that are synonymous with "ignorant" and then you wont have to repeat the same word over and over and over and over.. and over... and over..

edited to say "Im dirtyharry, HERO of Ed The GLIDER and HERO OF THE MESSAGE BOARDS! I try to ignore all the ignorant ignorance from ignoramuses on these ignorant forums full of ignorance!" how many more time can i say the word "ignorant"?

We are on the same page Pman, I know. I post the "stir sticks" also at times. I don't like : sh*tting on the US, sh**ting on men defending our country, sh*tting on men in uniform, sh*tting on minorities. We were all minorities once and fell into the above topics I don't like sh*tting on. Weird, but just IMO. I don't like bad taste either, because we can all be intellegent enough to find humor with good taste. Nobody should attack me for finding bad taste as reprehensible. I guess I am a little over the edge in that regard because I have had a lot of great folks who are minorities work for me over time. Anyway, regards and thanks for sending me the message.

    Anyway......

about Ray Charles. He was probably the most recognized and well loved R & B singer over the last few decades. Who else could inspire people of all races, ethnic origins, and religions as he could. Someone commented on his rise above the challenges both physical and social, and this is probably what drove him in addition to his love for spreading good music to the masses.

Thanks Ray. I can hear your wonderful rendition of "God Bless America" in my head, plus all of the great soul tunes that you helped make famous.

Oh, and Mr. Charles was usually one of the first people to make jokes about his blindness. He was very comfortable with it and had the faith to know that this was part of his journey in life.

Now why don't we try to put the differences aside and just enjoy the music.

They could hear the riders coming
He said this is my last fight,
"If they take me back to Texas,
They wont take me back alive"...

    When the battle stopped
    and the smoke cleared,
There was thunder from the throne..
