WTB: 1955 Jefferson

Hello Everyone,

Well then, let's try this...
I'm looking for a 1955-P or D Jefferson Nickel in PCGS ms64FS or better.
I can't seem to find any anywhere.

If anyone has got one, or knows where I might find one, I'd be grateful.

Thanks

Thats a tough coin, I put together a Jeff set for someone not to long ago and he wasnt concerned about FS, and I had a hard time just locating one with decent step detail. good luck finding one?

I know...I may have to settle for less, but, I have to start somewhere, and I figured, why not at the top.image

Sorry, only have numerous raw ones. I'll look to see if any appear FS if you want me to.

It is a tough coin. I have one at pcgs now and I am crossing my fingers, but I don't think it will do better than 64.

Actually, looking mine over, the anacs ms65 I have has fully struck steps but a tiny nick keeping it from the designation. Would you be interested in that?

I have two 1955-P PCGS extras -- an MS65 non-FS and an MS64 non-FS where the steps are close. I'd be glad to send scans if either is of interest.
    When in doubt, don't.

DennisH: If NumisMe passes on the pcgs ms65, would you sell it to me? How's its luster and overall strike? My raw ones have nice luster but bad strikes. My anacs one has a nice strike and bad luster, and the ngc ms66 I have has decent luster but is really dark.

DennisH, I sent you a PM.
    Let me know.
  • Hello,
I would also be interested in the PCGS 1955P MS65 if the others pass on it...let me know.

    Guys:

Sorry, but I had to go out and take care of a work assignment. Just back now and discovered what a mess I'd created here.

ALso VERY sorry to report that I messed up BIG TIME. The 1955-P MS65 and MS64 are actually 1955-Ds.

I'll consider buying an SBA dollar as punishment.

    Bill:

The 63FS 42-D/D that sold for $12K in the Heritage Auction at Long Beach got my two Jeff buddies ALL EXCITED, as you might expect. While they know I'm going to follow through on my promise to let them each have one of the 58s at my cost after the regrade roulette wheel stops spinning at PCGS, the realization that the market value of such pieces may have just jumped has them both quite excited!

There was a pretty nice 55-D at heritage last week.

    I picked up a 55-D MS65, but I still can't find the 'P' and I can't find any 'FS's period.
I never dreamed they would be so hard to find.
But then, I just started looking for '80 and '81 coins, and they seem pretty scarce as well.
