doh!

Have any of you ever hit the buy it now by accident like I just did? I was on the phone - and at the same time trying to make a regular bid - I hit the buy it now by accident. $350 mistake. Guess it was a lesson learned.

Hate it when that happens. I've learned to never take phone calls when I'm doing serious work on ebay!

I ran over both my dog's and my daughter's toes sliding back from my desk after hitting the buy it now option once! Dog screamed and squeeled for five minutes and my daughter slaped me!

I guess I have no choice, but at the end of the day, I am thankful the buy it now was not outrageous - I did not intend on bidding that high.

    Eric-
now you've got our sympathy, what was the card?

Griffins - put your sympathy away. It was a '51 Topps Connie Mack All-Stars Tris Speaker PSA 5. Now the greedy ()*&%^$^&) is about to win a raw one that should grade PSA 4 or above.

Why would you pay $350 for that piece of crap? Do you know how many awesome cards you can get with that kind of money?

At least it wasn't one of those million-dollar FGS 10's some clown had running a week or so ago.

No, I haven't. Thanks for sharing and be careful.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

Well, this thread proves ranch isn't one of the Wentz brothers.

Ranch - thanks for the kind hearted question. I blame it all on Murcerfan and our friend Colt. In the grand scheme of things, why do any of us love collecting cardboard?

edited to add: I certainly think I overpaid for the card - that was sort of the point of the thread.

Nick - sorry about the hoarding, I am sort of on a mission from God so to speak. Hey, if you do need any, I have dups and would be willing to sell at my cost or trade.

I'm just giving you a hard time in the spirit of the thread. image
I'm the last person to really complain about hoarding. I do it myself.
My '51 All-Stars sets are not a priority for me, and I'm mainly looking for them cheaply in low grades (usually backless) unless I can get a steal on a better card.
