FYI - A few crossover results

Here are the results of a few crossovers from the last couple submissions. All were cracked out and submitted as "raw" cards.

1910 C56 Lester Patrick SGC 5 to PSA 5
1911 C55 Paddy Moran CSA 3 to PSA 4
1911 C55 Percy Lesueur CSA 4 to PSA 4
1954 Topps Worsley SGC 5 to PSA 5
1955 Parkhurst Plante ASA 5 to PSA 2 (not a typo!)
1969 OPC Plante PSA 7 to PSA 7
1974 OPC Resch KSA 8.5 to PSA 8

Pretty happy about all but the ASA card. I thought it would be a 4, but a 2!!! REALLY happy with the Lester Patrick - only the second 5 graded with none higher - I figured that fact alone would keep it from getting the grade it deserved. Must have been Darth Grader's week off!

Pretty small sample size, but I'm probably going to avoid ASA (and I don't mean aspirin!).

Bill - Very nice results. I think you did really well on the CSA results. Your ASA result is not too surprising and you should probably be happy that it graded at all. The biggest drop I had was an ASA 8 to a PSA 3 C56 Barney Holden. In many cases the cards were trimmed.

    Nobody wants that card anyway.

So THAT's why there are so many holes in that #26 spot! image

    Exactly.

Seriously, though, nice job on those. The only SGC card I've crossed over did so perfectly: 88 to an 8. KSA's been a mixed bag for me - and that's probably being a generous - though I've mainly sent in modern cards with KSA crackouts. And I once successfully crossed over an AGA 8 to a PSA 8. Pretty amazing considering the former's claim to fame, I believe, is being the grading company of choice for Orr RC's of dubious origin.

  • I had an absolutely gorgeous KSA 8 Worsley rookie a few years ago that came back with the dreaded "evidence of trimming" so I'm always reluctant to reach for the knife! SGC seems to be the only consistent exception in my limited experience. With the others it's a crap shoot.
