This may be a stupid question but I cannot find the answer anywhere. Why are some names of players in this set in yellow and others in white? At first I thought it was the rookies but that is not it. Anyone who knows for sure please inform me. I am just starting to collect this set for the registry and I would like to know more about it then what is listed in the beckett 20th edition. Thanks for you imput.

Basically, don't leave your cards in direct sunlight!

This isn't yellowing from the sun it is printed in yellow on some players names and in white on other players names. They came out of the vending box that way.

Actually, the Doyle experienced "whitening" from the sun, not "yellowing". My post was in jest, thus the at the end. I was just trying to help by bringing the thread to the top for a legitimate answer. I'll give it a shot, though - this was most likely just the design of the set for that year. You will find it in many baseball and football sets across the board. If I'm wrong about this specific issue (I don't claim to be an expert), someone will surely point it out.
Best of luck with your set.

It is by team. For some teams all the players have their names in yellow,
and for other teams all the players have their names in white.
The exceptions are the 'All-Star' cards on which all the names are in yellow.
